Policies
At Adventure Academy, your child's health, well-being and overall safety is of top priority. We have policies in place that we will follow to the fullest, and we would expect that you, as a parent will do the same. This is to ensure that your child receives the best care possible.
Pick-up Policy
No child will be released to anyone unauthorized to pick him/her up from the center. If you have someone else picking up your child from Adventure Academy, you must let us know! Either call ahead, or let us know when you drop your child off.
Anyone who is authorized to pick up your child must be prepared to show a valid photo ID each time they pick up your child. Absolutely no exceptions!
Illness Policy
Keep in mind the importance of making sure your child is not ill when you bring him/her to Adventure Academy. This is both for your child's sake and also in consideration of other children and staff in the program.
Please keep your child at home if they have any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature of degrees or higher
- Vomiting within the last 24 hours
- 3 loose stoles within the last 24 hours
- Drainage or redness of the eye
- Unexplained rash or Chicken Pox
Illness or Minor Injury Ocurring at the Center
We are not staffed or licensed to care for sick children. If your child becomes ill while at Adventure Academy, he or she will be isolated from the other children under the supervision of a staff member until he/she is picked up.
We use discretion when calling you if your child appears ill. If a parent cannot be reached and/or cannot pick up the child within one hour, a designated emergency contact will be called. In the event that your child is sent home with a fever, diarrhea or vomiting, he/she may not return to our care for 24 hours from the last occurence.
If your child should receive a minor injury while in our care, the wound will be thoroughly washed out and bandaged or ice pack will be applied. An Accident Report will be filled out by the teacher at the time of the incident.
Adventure Academy always has staff on duty who are certified in infants, children and adult CPR and First Aid.
Medication Administration
Adventure Academy will administer prescription medicines *only* after an authorization form is signed by the parent. Medications MUST be in their original, labeled container, and must have the child's name, physician's namee, name of medication and the dosage on the label.
Over the counter medicines or any medicine labeled as "under 2 consult a physician" requires a note from the physician before we can administer the medication. A permission form must be filled out EACH DAY your child is to be given medications.
Upon entrance into the program, an Emergency Release form must be filled out. This allows us to seek treatment for your child in the event of an accident or illness if you cannot be reached.
**Please make sure this form is updated annually, and let us know immediately if any information on this form is incorrect or has changed. This is the only way we have to contact you in case of an emergency or illness.**
